2:00 – 7:00 pm Please Touch the Instruments – Allegheny Echoes is the concept of a group of West Virginia musicians, writers and artists who wish to promote, support preserve and teach their art in a traditional way in a traditional setting. Their goal is to provide an accurate representation of WV art that is not packaged and altered to appeal to a specific market. Their week long workshops in Marlinton, WV provide classes in music, creative writing and traditional singing with an emphasis on WV style with an overall look toward the encompassing Appalachian Culture. Allegheny echoes “Please touch the Instruments” program affords young and old alike the opportunity to sit down on a hay bale and play a banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin or dulcimer under the guidance of our staff and students. Parents must assist their young children.
